How Does Food Affect Your Blood Sugar
Presented by Mary Lavelle, Registered Dietitian & Diabetes Educator
Fifty-four million Americans have pre-diabetes and recent research has shown that some long-term damage to the body, especially the heart and circulatory system, may already be occurring during pre-diabetes. Research has also shown that you can delay or prevent type 2 diabetes from ever developing if you take action to manage your blood glucose.

Blood Pressure Check - Most Sundays
High blood pressure makes your heart work harder than normal. It increases the risk of heart attacks, strokes, kidney failure, eye damage and congestive heart failure. High blood pressure usually has no symptoms. The only way to know if you have high blood pressure is to have your blood pressure checked. Optimal blood pressure is less than 120/80 mmHg.
We invite you to get regular blood pressure checks through the Healing and Wholeness Center.
When: Most Sundays between services
Where: The Parish Nurse Office,
Room 202
Cost: Free
Blood pressure nurses are always needed.
