Staff Bios
Executive Director, Deborah Paone

Deborah has served as Executive Director since 2004, providing administrative oversight of the Center. Working with the Board of Directors, she facilitates strategic planning, financial management, and program development on behalf of the Center. Her responsibilities also include: fundraising, grant writing and grant management, program reporting and accountability, and maintaining and building key organizational relationships with current and potential partners. Deborah maintains her own healthcare evaluation consulting firm, Paone & Associates, which she founded in 2002. Previously she served as Senior Research Associate and Vice President of Member Services for the National Chronic Care Consortium. She also was Director of the Section for Aging and Long-Term Care Services for the American Hospital Association in Chicago.
Deborah has a Master of Health Services Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Gerontological Issues in Community Medicine and sees older people as vital to our communities
Parish Nurse, Kaye Wothe

We are delighted to welcome Kaye Wothe to the staff of the Center for Healing & Wholeness as our new Parish Nurse.
Kaye comes to us with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She is a Registered Nurse and is also licensed as a school nurse and a public health nurse. She has worked in internal medicine, hematology, oncology, home health, home infusion. Kaye completed training with Concordia for Parish Nursing and worked as a parish nurse for another congregation. Kaye states she loves working with seniors, helping organize caring communities and illness prevention activities. Kaye is a member of Normandale and lives in Edina with her husband and four children. Kaye will be at the Center on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Care Team Coordinator, Shirley Pope

Shirley recruits, trains, and monitors the efforts of over 100 volunteers who participate in the Center’s Care Team Ministry. Teams of one to four volunteers are formed to serve the needs of individual seniors in the community. She coordinates volunteers at The Colony at Eden Prairie and provides assistance to The Colony with its new resident orientation and resident communication (e.g., newsletters). She is the Volunteer Driver Coordinator, as well, getting rides for seniors with transportation needs.
Shirley lives in Edina—not far from the Center—with an orange cat named T.K. She has two daughters, two sons-in-law, and four grandchildren.
Resource Coordinator, Candace Barrick

Candace provides one-to-one assistance to elders and their family caregivers to help them understand and access supportive services, such as housing, transportation, respite, and chore and home health services, that are available through community agencies and state and county programs. She keeps up-to-date on the costs, program requirements, location, and scope of services of local providers in order to facilitate referrals.
Candace lives in the Longfellow neighborhood of south Minneapolis with her husband, Craig Wilkins. Their son, Ethan, attends the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Candace serves on the board of directors of the Longfellow/Seward Healthy Senior Program.
Administrative Support/Project Coordinator, Patti Hankes
Patti provides administrative support and communication assistance for the Center, writing the bi-weekly page of the church newsletter as well as the Center newsletter. As the Project Coordinator, Patti manages/tracks data and information for use in project related analysis and reporting. She also handles registration and assists with on-site activities for workshops, classes and events.
Patti has a Business Degree from the College of St. Catherine and lives in Edina with her husband and two children
